GlamBOX
GlamBOX is a unique project, designed for Selucente by Officina82. It is inspired by the barns and huts found in the area, essential elements in Alpine rural settings and part of a well-established landscape.
GlamBOX embraces the connection with traditional humble architecture and the innovative accommodation function linked to stargazing and staying in natural environments. The chestnut wood module, measuring 5x3 meters, is developed on two levels: on the ground floor, there is the bedroom and bathroom, and on the loft, two additional potential sleeping spaces
LOFT - Former rye barn
The old rye barn, initially in an advanced state of abandonment, was constructed with stone. The unique interior space was topped by a wooden roof with a rye straw covering, replaced several decades ago with now-rusty corrugated metal sheets.
The restoration work involved replacing the old roof, structurally consolidating the walls, and creating a new internal loft that houses the sleeping area. The structure of the new roof is made of wood insulated with wood fiber panels, and the outer covering is in corrugated corten steel sheets.
The two new full-height dormers from the loft floor open up views of the Southern Alta Valle Tanaro and the forest to the north.
The interior walls are finished with a raw hemp-lime plaster.
The interior walls of the bathroom are made of marmorino, and those of the kitchen are made of cocciopesto.
To maintain the exterior appearance as consistent as possible with the existing structure, the decision was made not to intervene on the external walls and to leave the old lime plaster partially detached
